Learn about the history & customs of the Pataxó Indigenous Peoples on this excursion to the Pataxó da Jaqueira reserve, an unforgettable experience!

Pataxó da Jaqueira Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Porto Seguro at the indicated time to start a fascinating excursion to the Pataxó da Jaqueira Reserve.

This indigenous reserve, located just 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from Porto Seguro, is where the Pataxó people have maintained their ancestral customs and close relationship with nature for centuries. Before arriving at our destination, we'll discover the history of the Pataxó Indigenous Peoples, who live in different towns in Bahia and Minas Gerais.

Upon arrival at Pataxó da Jaqueira, we'll be welcomed by members of the community who will be dressed in traditional garb and colorful ornaments - their striking headdresses are sure to catch your attention! Once inside the reserve, we'll learn about the local customs, such as dances, games, rituals, and the Patxohã language.

After this cultural exchange, we'll return to your hotel in Porto Seguro where the excursion will finish around 3 hours later.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup only at hotels located in the central area of Porto Seguro. Pickup from hotels in Arraial D'Ajuda, Trancoso, Santa Cruz Cabrália, Espelho, and Caraíva is not available.

If you are staying in any of these areas, after making your reservation, we'll reach out to you to set up a meeting point in a central location in Porto Seguro.
